Great to have you reading today’s evening edition of the tipster brief. We have a couple of interesting topics to discuss today and as always, we hope you enjoy it!

Here’s what we’ll be focusing on today:

  • Why you should track your bets
  • SPOTLIGHT ON – Joining our Euro 2016 Tipping Competition

Why You Should Track your Bets

Whether you’re a tipster or just bet for a hobby, tracking your bets will be one of the best steps forward you can take to help improve your skills and increase your chances of becoming a successful bettor. I say it to everyone and I won’t stop, you learn so much when you do this. Here are the benefits of tracking your bets

  1. You can really see exactly how much money you are making/losing – A lot of the time, gamblers think they are doing better than they actually are. I think if the huge majority of people were able to see their lifetime stats, they would be in for a shock. As a side note there is an easy way to find this out. Go to all of your online bookmakers that you use and ask for your total deposits/withdrawals. Tracking your bets takes away the guessing element of results and can give you an exact amount
  2. It allows you to see where you are most profitable – Providing you are tracking each bet with detail, you can see where you are making the most money and where the leakage is coming from. You’ll be able to tell what markets are the most profitable for you, what leagues you are doing best on and so on. This way, you can either narrow your betting down to a select few markets/leagues, or you can address where you are going wrong with the other bets and how you can improve on this.
  3. For tipsters, this shows you are completely transparent – Transparency is huge for tipsters and without it, it can be hard to gain the trust of your followers. The fact is, a good profit/loss record will make you stand out from the crowd. If you just claim to be ‘smashing it’ every day, it means absolutely nothing and this, I’m afraid, will not get you anywhere.
  4. Spot Irregular betting patterns – It’s so easy to make silly mistakes when you are betting. However this will allow you to spot this and hopefully you can then prevent yourself from doing it again. For example you might notice that you have increased your stakes after a small losing run and have started chasing. Any problems like this will prove to be costly for your bank balance.
  5. Monitor deposits and withdrawals – It’s a similar point to number 1, but it is still hugely important. You can see after every day/week/month how much you are investing from your bank account, or even how much extra you are earning on the side from this.

I honestly can’t stress it enough, starting to track your bets will be one of the best decisions you have made I can assure you. There are many fantastic free websites that will do all of the legwork for you, all you have to do is input your selections and you’re done. Either way, if you’re going to do something this evening, start making yourself a profit/loss spreadsheet and let me know how you get on.

CasualGambler Tipping Competition – Euro 2016

With the Euro’s just around the corner, we are organising a Tipping Competition to go alongside it. Our last two have been great fun and I’m sure this will be the same. If you are looking to join it yourself, the details are below:

Rules:

  • 10 Points/Units are allocated per day to use. These can be spent on any Euro 2016 game that day.
  • Each bet must be sent to us the evening before the match kicks off. That way, everyone’s bets can be posted for all to see
  • The minimum stake for any single bet is 0.5 points
  • Single bets only, no multiples
  • The profit leaderboard will be updated each day
  • Whoever makes the most profit, wins!

How to Join:

Here’s the important part, joining. It’s a very simple process, all you need to do is:

  • Send £10 via PayPal to  – casualgambler@hotmail.com
  • DM us once this has been done and we will confirm payment has been received
  • You’re in! Now you can start researching your selections

ALL of the money will go towards the prize-pool. Top 3 places pay and the amounts will depend on how many people have joined.

If you decide to give this a go, I wish you the best of luck and I hope you enjoy it. This is open to both tipsters and people who bet  for fun.

All the best,

Chris
